Currently recruiting for a Qualification Technician for a leading materials manufacturer based in the Cambridgeshire area. As a Qualification Technician you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of laboratory work including the physical and mechanical testing of materials. As a Qualification Technician you will also be responsible for the compiling test data into reports and ensuring that the laboratory and equipment are kept to a high standard, also ensuring that the relevant health and safety requirements are met and maintained.

To be considered for this Qualification Technician, you will have previous experience within materials manufacturing with knowledge of the physical and mechanical testing of materials. You will also be degree/HNC educated in Materials Science, Materials Engineer, Mechanical Engineering or closely related subject, however someone without degree level education can be considered if you possess enough industrial experience in a similar role.

This role will operate on a split shift of 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm rotating weekly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out various laboratory work including specimen fabrication.
  • Conduct various physical and mechanical testing of materials.
  • Compile test data into reports which will assist in any customer queries.
  • Ensure the laboratory is maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure all the relevant health and safety requirements are met and maintained.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Industrial experience carrying out physical and mechanical testing of materials.
  • HNC/BSc level education within Materials Science/Mechanical Engineer/Materials Engineering would be desirable, however someone with relevant industrial experience without this would still be considered.
  • High attention to detail, with a good level of verbal and written communication essential.
