Amazing opportunity for a determined and enthusiastic Product Development Manager to join a successful, entrepreneurial company based in Dorset.

The company works with a wide portfolio of UK Retailers and supply bespoke products within several categories, including Reusable Bags, Health products, Beauty and Household and Impulse Snacking products.

A great candidate for this Product Manager role will excel in a fast-paced environment. They will be able lead on innovation; deliver on clear and concise plans, have a good ability to multi task, be able to prioritise efficiently, learn new skills and processes quickly and live and breathe the product - previous experience in a similar role with a proven record of food NPD/product development and delivery to market would be ideal.

Key aspects of this job:

  • Run and own your product strategy with a clear vision for retail
  • Have the ability to negotiate on costs and MOQ and own commercials for product area
  • Detect and drive new product development / product upgrades
  • Lead supplier strategy with our buying team across UK/EU and Asia
  • Engage with key customers and support commercial function in obtaining new business and enhancing current portfolio.
  • Thrive in product innovation and support the wider team in building a clear 2-yr strategy for growth and success.
  • Lead our critical paths and find solutions to a brief or tight deadline.
  • To understand and drive our sustainability message throughout our product portfolio
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to be sure of visibility throughout the business
  • Be able to lead clear briefs and communicate efficiently with our production teams in the UK & Asia
  • Understand the technical make up of a product
  • Be able to work in large amounts of analytical detail
  • Produce stand-out presentations for our customers.
  • Develop and engage wider team on new product concepts and designs.
  • Assure quality standards through all stages of NPD

Experience needed:

  • Critical paths and development timelines (including chasing up deliverables)
  • Cost management - negotiating cost price and MOQ's
  • Show examples of cross functional working
  • Show that you can lead and inspire peers and take them on an exciting, successful journey
  • Deliver examples of strategy building across product or brand
  • Strong supplier relationships within a commercial mindset
  • Hungry to learn new categories and explore new product ranges
  • Proactive work ethic & time management skills
  • Willing and excited to be part of a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to own and drive your category based on consumer and trend insight.
  • Team player who has managed a small team before.
  • Strong communication skills and detail orientated
  • Committed and reliable
