Meet the team Monday!

Week six! As our team grows, it’s a privilege for us to share with you their stories and expertise. Last week you met Paul Mears, our expert in chemical synthesis. Today is an extra special one as we are launching a 4-week pharmaceutical campaign, designed to showcase the talent within our pharma division and connect our team with the wider UK pharmaceutical industry network! Complementing today’s launch, we are very pleased to introduce you to Gareth Gooley; a key member of our Science Solutions Pharmaceutical Division. We will share a staff story with you every Monday, until Christmas Eve.

Gareth works in a close team of specialist pharmaceutical recruiters, supporting companies across the UK, from start-ups and SMEs to large brand names. He supports pharmaceutical manufacturing and contract development organisations with temporary staff, contingency vacancies and retained search and selection assignments for high-level roles. Competition is fierce, and assignments are often completed very quickly. Gareth is adept at matching the best scientists in the industry, with the job opportunities he works on. He supports job seekers with CV, application and interview advice and uses his wider network of colleagues and industry professionals to achieve the best results possible for all involved. Speak to Gareth about:

Formulation, R&D, Analytical, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs and Senior Management.

Professional background

After a career working in both laboratories and customer service, Gareth decided to move into scientific recruitment at the start of 2016, where his focus was on placing scientific and engineering contractors into life science companies across Europe.

Gareth joined Science Solutions in October 2017 and now specialises in the recruitment of laboratory and quality staff within the pharmaceutical industry, combining his technical knowledge with a personable approach.

He always takes an honest and professional approach, offering full transparency on all recruitment projects that I undertake and deliver.

Gareth’s previous experience has allowed him to develop a diverse and high-quality network within the pharmaceutical industry.

Working at Birchwood Park

Gareth is based at our Birchwood Park office and enjoys the flexibility of extended lunch breaks to allow him to use the on-site gym and leisure facilities. Birchwood Park is home to 165 companies and provides an outstanding working environment, in a well-connected location. Wellness weeks, outdoor boot camps, Summer BBQ’s, film nights and allotments are just a few of the little extras that employees can benefit from. Science Solutions encourage all staff to use their lunch breaks for fresh air and exercise. All members of the team can take a 1.5-hour lunch break if they are going to the gym or using their lunch to exercise.

Fatherhood, food and playing guitar

Away from the office Gaz used to be a chef and enjoys cooking along with playing video games and the guitar. However, he doesn’t have much time for either of these after becoming a dad for the first time last December. Gaz is also an avid sports fan, particularly NFL, football and rugby league supporting his hometown team of Warrington Wolves which has provided him with thick skin over the years.
