Meet the team Monday!
Week ten! As our team grows, it’s a privilege for us to share with you their stories and expertise. Last week you met Liz Corness, our Office Manager and HR specialist. Today, we are very pleased to introduce you to Chris Morris; our expert in biotechnology. We will share a staff story with you every Monday, until New Year’s Eve.
Chris is a PhD chemist who joined Science Solutions as a Scientific Recruitment Specialist, focussing on the provision of permanent, temporary and contract staff for clients within the biotechnology industry across the UK.
Chris completed an MSci in Chemistry and a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham (Project Title: Synchrotron Powder Diffraction Studies of Metal Organic Frameworks). As part of his PhD, Chris completed a 9-month placement at Diamond Light Source, the UK’s national synchrotron science facility, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire. He completed the final year of his PhD as a visiting PhD student at Manchester University.
Chris worked in a technical support role before joining Science Solutions. He utilises his strong background in both science and customer service in his approach to biotechnology clients and those job seekers looking to enhance their career within the industry. Chris offers a broad range of technical knowledge and understanding in a friendly and personable manner.
He endeavours to provide a tailored and professional service, whilst ensuring he offers complete honesty and transparency to all parties during all stages of the process. Whether biotech companies need support hiring new staff and managing recruitment processes, or whether individuals are looking for career opportunities in the biotech industry, Chris is the man to speak to.
Working at Birchwood Park
Chris is based at our Birchwood Park office, on a popular business site housing 165 companies and providing an outstanding working environment, in a well-connected location. Wellness weeks, outdoor boot camps, Summer BBQ’s, film nights and allotments are just a few of the little extras that employees can benefit from.
Music, food, and football
Away from the office, Chris is a complete music nerd. He spends the majority of his spare time either playing guitar and singing (or at least trying to), writing and recording songs, or listening to music. He’s also really into cooking and makes a great steak & ale pie. When he doesn’t have a guitar or a pan in his hand, he enjoys gaming and tries his best to enjoy watching Manchester United, although he admits that’s getting harder and harder these days…
