I am currently recruiting for an Upstream Process Development Scientist for our client based in Berkshire. The main responsibilities of the role are to perform cell culture and bioreactor process development. The role is mainly based in their newly established labs and you will be involved in supporting the set up of the lab systems and procedures, equipment commissioning and preparing documentation. There will be opportunities to work with the parent site in Europe and the role may require some travel there.

Responsibilities of the role:-

  • The upstream requirements of the role are development and optimisation of media and feed strategies and operational parameters using shake flasks and multiple bioreactors. Cell counts, viability, metabolite, dissolved gas analysis for monitoring bioreactors and cell cultures. Research cell banking, small scale cell culture work and aseptic manipulations.
  • You will support the technology transfer of cell culture, bioreactor and harvest processes for biotherapeutic products from the clients facility in Europe to the UK site and following this to CMO's.
  • Prepare other GLP/GMP documentation to support above activities, including SOPs, URSs, raw material/in-process specifications.
