An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Chemist to join a leading chemical manufacturer based in Lancashire. As a Research Chemist, you will lead projects to develop innovative chemicals that outperform existing products, with acceptable cost and physical properties.
To be considered for this role, you will have a degree in Chemistry or a related subject, with proven experience developing water-based products using surfactants, solvents and polymers.
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead development projects to develop new products that outperform the existing product portfolio
- Develop scientific knowledge in all areas related to the business, including the physical chemistry of surfactants, solvents and polymers.
- To identify new components and raw materials to be used in existing products
- To use various laboratory equipment such as rheometer, FTIR and microscopes
Knowledge and Experience:
- Have a degree in Chemistry or related subject, with experience developing water-based products., experience in polymers and surfactants would be highly advantageous
- Experience leading development projects from initial concept through to commercialisation
- A high standard of practical technical knowledge
