An exciting opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist with experience in analytical testing techniques and development to join a growing company within the Materials and Nanotechnology industry. As a Senior Analyst this will be a hands-on role involving the development of a range of new and existing test methods for materials in both research and production environments

A crucial aspect of this role will be to develop new and existing analytical test methods, using a range of analytical equipment for raw materials, intermediates and final products. The Senior Analyst role is ideal for someone with experienced knowledge of analytical chemistry working with a variety of testing methods.

Key Duties:

  • Analytical testing of product nanomaterial samples and raw materialising analytical techniques
  • Critically evaluate Quality Control procedures and lead the development of improvements where required
  • Implement the development of ICP-OES, GC-MS, viscometry testing procedures
  • Work closely with the R&D and Production teams to identify better ways to improve analytical techniques
  • Liaise with customers involved in the development of new test methods
  • Work towards compliance standard ISO 9001 when analysing samples and recording data
  • Help provide training to applicable staff

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc/MSc in Analytical Chemistry or a relevant degree of significance
  • Experienced use and understanding of GC-FID, TGA, FT-IR, Karl Fischer titrations, UV-Vis-NIR and fluorescence spectroscopy
  • Expertise in one or more of the instrumental techniques listed
  • Strong numerical and computing skills
  • Work towards recognising issues and resolving problems
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and changing priorities
