An exciting opportunity has arisen for a R&D Process Engineer for an industry leading materials manufacturer to join their site based in Leicestershire. As an R&D Process Engineer you will be responsible for delivering various projects in relation to innovation and technology, including transfer between global sites and the development of new technology, products and SOP's. You will also be responsible for product quality improvements and cost reduction through implementing process upgrades, as well as supplier and customer liaison.

To be considered for this R&D Process Engineer position, you be degree educated in a Scientific or Engineering subject, along with significant Process/Manufacturing Engineer experience, skilled in using process risk and hazard assessment tools such as HAZOP, FMEA, PFMEA. You will also have previous project management experience, ideally with a PRINCE2 qualification. Someone with industrial experience within the materials, polymers, textiles or composites sector would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of various development projects in line with safety requirements.
  • Product quality improvement through the implementation of process improvements.
  • Creation and management of R&D systems and processes.
  • Customer and supplier liaison to meet any requirements and solve any technical issues.
  • Development of current and introduction of new technology, products and processes.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree qualified in Science or Engineering, Process or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Process/Manufacturing Engineering experience ideally within the chemicals, materials, composites or textiles sector
  • Skilled in using process risk and hazard assessment tools such as HAZOP, FMEA, PFMEA.
  • Previous data analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Project management experience, ideally with a PRINCE2 qualification.
