I am looking for an experienced principal scientist within the Cheshire region. This opportunity lies within a global drug discovery and development platform, offering development solutions to external clients. As a Principal Scientist you will be a participating and over-seeing the inception, design and delivery of pre-clinical studies within infectious diseases, alongside leasing with a diverse range of clients.
Responsibilities as a Principal Scientist:
- Management of client and internal projects, following the planning, execution and reporting of projects with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- To be an active partner within the discovery teams, offer understanding of the identification and optimisation of drug candidates without integration of in silico, in vitro and in vivo
- Quality control, formulating reports for clients, conferences and customers.
- Assisting with the technical side of business development through presentations, proposal drafting and costing.
Requirements:
- PhD (or higher/ equivalent) in life sciences or equivalent relevant industrial experience
- Experiences within a CRO environment would be ideal
- Experience working in a microbiology laboratory environment at containment level 2 with direct experience working with bacteria, fungi or viruses.
- Experience and understanding within in vitro or in vivo pharmacology including PK/PD relationships of anti-infective drugs.
- Proven project management skills and industry related understanding of small molecule drug discovery and development is essential.
