This is a great job opportunity for a scientist with a track record in computation chemistry to step up into a senior level Principal Computational Chemist position for a UK firm offering this role as home-based with some travel aspects. As Principal Computational Chemist, you will link all of the technical departments pertinent to the firm's drug discovery offering, to unite efforts in chemistry, ADME, DMPK, toxicology, etc. The successful appointment will build upon project management and technical skills in a fast-paced environment which can be very client-led as well as science-led.
Your day to day duties as the Principal Computational Chemist will be:
- Managing the development of lead molecule candidates as main technical point of contact for computational work
- Developing the firm's computational chemistry offering as per project and client needs
- Representing the firm at conferences and on key industry bodies
- Working on building relationships with colleagues heading up related departments
You will be an ideal candidate with this background:
- A degree, or equivalent, in a relevant scientific field
- A track record in computational chemistry service delivery in academia or industry
- Familiarity with software packages such as Schrödinger DD
- A good team-working approach and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The desire to build and innovate
