An Oxford-based biotechnology company is seeking a Pharmacology Scientist with experience carrying out in vitro assays to join their team on a 2-year fixed term basis to assist in compound profiling and screening, supporting the development of novel therapies for a range of therapeutic areas.
You will be in involved in the execution, troubleshooting, and optimisation of a range of cell-based and biochemical assays to characterise the mechanism of action and potency of novel compounds.
This is a great opportunity for a graduate with an understanding of pharmacology to make the move into industry, or a more experienced scientist looking to make the move to a dynamic growing company.
Role Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or related discipline;
- Ideally hands-on experience assessing the pharmacology of novel molecules across a range of different targets, using a range of cell-based and/or biochemical assays, and analysis of the resulting data;
- Knowledge of fluorescence-based and luminescence-based techniques would be an advantage;
- Ideally some experience working within drug discovery industry.
