A global manufacturer of specialist polymers and coatings are recruiting for a New Product Development Leader for their site based near Chester. As a New Product Development Leader you will be taking ownership of new product development projects, both managing and executing NPD projects through various laboratory based activities, materials testing, and pilot plant/production trials. You will also be working closely with the process development and commercial teams to define processing requirements and to develop and understanding of customer requirements respectively.

To be considered for this New Product Development Leader you will be degree educated in Chemistry or Polymer Science, along with significant industrial experience within the formulation of coatings and polymer for high-performance applications, with the medical device sector being highly desirable. You will also have demonstrable experience of leading and executing NPD projects, and the coordination of plant trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate polymer based coatings for high performance applications.
  • Deliver NPD projects involving the formulation, scale-up and delivery of coatings to customers.
  • Coordinate NPD trials for both pilot plant and full scale manufacturing.
  • Work closely with the commercial team and various customers to develop and understanding of customer requirements.
  • Work alongside the process development team to define process requirements.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum BSc in Chemistry or Polymer Science.
  • Significant experience of coatings or polymer systems development.
  • Medical device coatings or silicone gel adhesives would be preferable.
  • Previous management of NPD or R&D projects.
  • Experience in leading pilot plant and production trails would be highly desirable.
