An entrepreneurial, indie cosmetics and personal care company based in Gloucestershire are keen to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Junior Cosmetic Scientist who would like to join a growing organisation. The purpose of this role is to work in close partnership with external partners in the UK and overseas, supporting the R&D team with technical development and testing of new and existing product ranges. You will carry out relevant testing and ensure it is all accurately reported, whilst keeping up to date with knowledge of latest ingredients and suppliers of raw materials
Key Duties:
· Assist the R&D team in formulating and developing product ranges to meet new briefs
· Carry out relevant testing including stability testing, as well as viscosity, pH, specific gravity as well as fragrance & visual assessments
· Organise and assist in carrying out in-house user trials, including manufacturing formulations in the lab, preparing and labelling samples, creating questionnaires and collating user feedback
· Work creatively with the R&D team, contributing ideas in order to develop formulations in the lab and continuously improve existing formulas
· Conduct relevant testing to support claim substantiation and prepare examples for external testing
· Develop gifting ranges including briefing formulation requirements, checking formulation submissions and ingredients lists, requesting testing reports and reviewing artwork
Key Requirements:
· Cosmetic Science degree or similar
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to work in a timely, organised manner and use own initiative
