An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Formulation Scientist to work for an innovative company leading the way in delivering sustainable and biodegradable packaging made from natural ingredients. As a Formulation Scientist you will be responsible delivering various research and development projects to identify new ingredients and additives for formulations with improved performance and enhancing environmentally qualities of products. You will research, formulate and test various bio and natural materials, and work closely with manufacturing to delivery to scale up of these products.
To be considered for this Formulation Scientist, you will be degree educated in Chemistry, Cosmetics Science, Food Science or closely related subject, along with significant industrial experience in formulation specifically related to natural materials, polymers, food or cosmetics. You will have a good understanding of plant derived materials, along with knowledge of common ingredients used in the manufacturing of natural food, cosmetics or biopolymer products.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulation development of natural and biodegradable packaging.
- Research laboratory testing techniques used to test natural materials.
- Liaise with manufacturing to scale up various formulations providing technical support.
- Liaise directly with academic institutes to organise 3rd party research and testing.
- Characterise formulations and packaging products.
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree qualified in Chemistry, Food Science or Cosmetics Science.
- Significant experience within formulation specifically natural materials.
- A good understanding of plant derived materials
- Knowledge of common ingredients used in the manufacturing of natural food, cosmetics or biopolymer products.
- Comfortable with being hands on in the laboratory.
