An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager for a specialist polymer manufacturer based in the West Midlands. As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing the engineering team, as well as defining and implementing all engineering and maintenance strategies and processes for the manufacturing facilities. The Engineering Manager will also be responsible for project management and technical leadership across all engineering projects, and working closely with other internal teams including R&D and Production to support continuous improvement projects.

To be considered for this Engineering Manager, you will be degree qualified within Mechanical Engineering. You will also have significant industrial experience as an Engineering Manager within the polymers, materials, chemicals or FMCG manufacturing sector, along with plant maintenance and management experience. Someone with previous experience from within the polymer manufacturing sector would be highly desirable.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of all Engineers and Maintenance.
  • Define and implement engineering and maintenance strategies and processes for manufacturing.
  • Coordination of all engineering activities and the delivery of engineering projects.
  • Set and manage all engineering KPI’s.
  • Manage continuous improvement projects within manufacturing and equipment performance.
  • Work closely within production, quality, R&D and commercial teams to support improvements.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience as an Engineering Manager within the materials, polymers or chemical manufacturing sector.
  • Plant maintenance and plant management experience is required.
  • Someone with experience working for a polymer manufacturing company would be highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with strong communication is essential.
