A Cambridge-based biotechnology company is seeking a Downstream Process Development Scientist to join their team focused on the development of novel therapeutics.

In this role, you will play a key part in the development, optimisation and troubleshooting of processes for the purification of proteins, support in tech transfer activities to external partners, and provide technical leadership for downstream process development activities to internal and external teams.

Requirements for this role:

  • PhD in life science discipline, or BSc/MSc with postgraduate experience within industry;
  • Experience and expertise in the development, scale up, and validation of downstream processes for therapeutic proteins, including experience with purification techniques such as affinity, size-exclusion, hydrophobic interaction, and ion exchange chromatography;
  • Ideally some experience with DoE approaches to process development, in addition to experience authoring and reviewing CMC documentation for regulatory submissions.
