Science Solutions Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for a Development Technician to join our client's nutritional laboratory. You will be assisting Development Chemists, preparing new product formulations and working to regulatory standards. This excellent role is based within the Lab, you will have laboratory equipment experience and an excellent attention to detail.

Role:

  • Assist in the manufacture of products on a small scale, and assist in large scale production batches
  • Assist the development chemists with the formulation of cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and body scrubs for various customers
  • Carry out research into raw materials that can be incorporated into products
  • Packing off products for trials, consumer tests, and customers
  • Liaise and work with other departments including Quality, Manufacturing and Sales & Business Development
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Product Development database (COPTIS) for in-house formulated products
  • Ensure records of all work are accurately maintained and up to date
  • Ensure all paperwork is well documented and to the required guidelines
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping within the Laboratory and Development areas
  • Carry out calibration of Laboratory equipment
  • Assist with regulatory and factory administration tasks
  • Carry out any other reasonable projects and duties as determined by the Product Development Manager / Development Chemists / Technical Director

Person:

  • A degree within Science or similar discipline
  • Good knowledge of laboratory equipment
  • Formulation experience would be highly advantageous
  • Calibration of laboratory equipment
