Formulation Chemist - FMCG - Oldham

If not, please get in touch as we are looking for a formulation chemist to join a well establish growing company within FMCG. We are open to looking at candidates with lab experience in a technician or QC role who are interested in being trained up as a formulation chemist. This company is a market leader and as new Formulation Chemist you will be working with the NPD, Ops and marketing teams. There is a real variety of projects where you will be involved from the initial concept through to launch. Product lines vary between homecare, personal care, car care and coatings.
Responsibilities will include:
- Formulation of new products.
- Being part of the development and test methods to improve formulations.
- Keeping in line with regulatory changes.
- Liaise with suppliers to achieve best performance.
- Helping Production team to resolve plant problems.
- Specification checking on products and testing/report writing on benchmark products.
- Testing of new packaging and accessories
The ideal candidate would have:
- Circa 1 year hands on lab experience
- Degree or other useful educational standard in Chemistry or relevant subject
- UK Driving License is essential due to travelling locally between sites
- Previous experience and knowledge of surfactants & disinfectants or cleaning products would be highly desirable.
- Chemical analysis would be highly desirable (FT-IR, XRF, ICP etc.)
- A reasonable level of computer literacy.
- A background of working with FMCG / industrial chemical products in a lab or customer environment would also be highly desirable
- Competency working multiple projects and meeting deadlines
