An exciting new role has arisen for a Business Development Scientist within the polyurethanes sector for a global business based at their site in Essex. In this role you will be responsible for developing relationships with various customers and external parties to develop various polyurethane solutions within the laboratory. In this role you will be a polyurethane expert, with the ability to develop new business and deliver technical and innovation programs.
To be considered for this Business Development Scientist position you will be a degree qualified Chemist, with significant industrial experience within the polyurethanes sector. You will also have some experience within management or project management, along with some experience within a commercial or customer facing position. We would also consider those who have a strong wider polymers background with some strong academic knowledge of polyurethanes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver technical programs along with defining innovation projects.
- Work with commercial teams to discover new opportunities within polyurethane chemistry, and define needs of relevant applications.
- Provide technical support to customers, promoting products and assisting with any product issues.
- Keep up-to-date with patents and competitor products within the area of polyurethanes and polyurethane synthesis.
- Build an external network within the industry.
Knowledge and Experience
- At least BSc educated in Chemistry or closely related subject.
- Significant industrial experience within polyurethanes.
- Previous project or people management experience.
- Strong communications skills, with previous experience within a commercial role.
