Science Solutions are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager for one of our clients located in Surrey.
In order to be considered for this role as a Business Development Manager, you must have a strong combination of both technical and commercial acumen when it comes to materials science. You must also be happy to travel across the UK and EU as and when required.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new areas of growth for the business, liaising with scientists and other members of the technical team to further understand products and also ensuring that all activity related to sales and business development is accurately document.
The Business Development Manager role can be fully remote, but the successful applicant will be required to be on-site for the first 28 days of the role in order to become fully integrated into the team.
Role requirements:
- Strong technical understanding of materials science/engineering, in particular textiles, polymers or composites.
- 3+ years’ experience in a business development/sales environment is essential in addition to the technical knowledge of materials.
- Be open and willing to travel across UK and EU.
- Ideally looking for someone to be educated in a materials science, chemistry or similar discipline to a bachelors degree level.
Role responsibilities:
- Manage all inbound sales enquiries and document them accurately.
- Actively manage the new business cycle from lead generation and lead management to preparing proposals and presentations for new and existing clients.
- Draft commercial documents including manufacturing and supply agreements, NDAs and much more.
- You will also be responsible for representing the organisation at all industry and trade events.
